Cookie Policy

1. In short
Fogside sets one cookie, which the site needs to work, and stores one small setting in your browser when you close the cookie notice. There are no analytics, advertising, tracking or social media cookies, and the site loads nothing from other websites: fonts, images and scripts all come from our own server.
2. What we store
-
dbd_store_session- Type
- Cookie
- Purpose
- Holds a random session identifier. It lets the site remember your cart and keep you logged in, and it connects you to a security token that protects forms against submissions forged by other websites. The data itself stays on our server.
- Duration
- Session: deleted when you close your browser
- Set by
- Us (first party)
-
cookie_notice_seen- Type
- Local storage in your browser
- Purpose
- Remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so it is not shown again. It is only stored when you choose OK, and it is never sent to our server.
- Duration
- Until you clear the site data in your browser
- Set by
- Us (first party)
The session cookie is marked HttpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it, and SameSite=Lax, so browsers do not send it with requests started by other websites. On our live site it is only sent over an encrypted connection.
3. Why we do not ask for consent
Under the Swedish Electronic Communications Act (lag (2022:482) om elektronisk kommunikation, 9 kap. 28 ยง), which implements article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, a website needs your consent to store information in your browser unless the storage is necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for. Both items above are of that kind: the session cookie is needed for the cart, login and secure checkout you use, and the notice setting only records your own choice to close the notice. Since there is nothing optional to accept or refuse, the cookie notice only informs you and has a single OK button.
4. Stripe's payment page
When you continue to payment, you leave this site for a payment page hosted by Stripe on Stripe's own domain. Stripe sets its own cookies there, including cookies used to make the payment work and to detect fraud. Stripe is responsible for those cookies. They are described in Stripe's Cookie Policy and Stripe's Privacy Policy, and you can manage Stripe's optional cookies in Stripe's cookie settings.
Links to Steam, for example to activate a key, take you to Valve's website, where Valve's own cookie rules apply.
5. How to delete or block cookies
You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser's settings, usually under privacy or site data. Closing the browser deletes the session cookie. Clearing the site data for this site also removes the notice setting, so the notice is shown again on your next visit.
If you block the session cookie, the site cannot keep a cart or log you in, and you will not be able to check out.
6. Changes and contact
If we ever add another cookie, we update this page first, and if it is not strictly necessary we will ask for your consent before setting it. Questions go to Fogside at [email protected]. More about how we handle personal data is in the Privacy Policy.
